Hi

I have connected a new Hitachi 80 gig hdd to my PC running win xp. It
is not detecting the new dirve and also does not appear in My Computer.
Windows disk management tells that its not initialized. I have tried
rightclicking and initialising it but it doesn't work. The only options
I get on right clicking is "properties" and "initialise disk". I have
tried using Partition magic and it gives error 978(unable to get disk
details) but it is visible. Pls Help

try to get yourself a win98 boot disk and fdisk it. You can find a
win98 bootdisk image file @ www.bootdisk.com or if you have a win98
bootable CD will do the job too. Make sure you just boot with CD
support option only. Do not install win98 on your HDD. And make sure
you do it on the HDD you want to fdisk not your primary HDD.
