help to slow down BSOD

Guest

I hibernated the comp and when I booted, it gave a message like :" the last
attempt to start windows failed..
1)delete restoration data and reboot
2)continue with boot."

if I selected 2) a bsod flashed up but before there was any chance of
reading it it was gone !!
Is there a way to slow this down ?

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click on
the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced,
Start-Up and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before
Automatically Restart.

Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure until you have
resolved the problem. Check for variants of the Stop Error message.

An alternative is to keep pressing the F8 key during StartUp and select
option - Disable automatic restart on system failure.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

Select 'Start Windows Normally' and *quickly* hit F8.

If you got the timing right, you should see another menu. If there is only
one option in that menu, hit F8 again.

In this menu select 'disable automatic restart on system failure', Enter,
Enter and you should be able to view the full blue screen error.
