help to get sound back on PC

Sound was working OK and I know the speakers are ok.
My son fiddled with some settings and I now have no sound.
I have checked the volume control in the `sound & audio` in control panel
and thats ok.

I am sure there is another setting somewhere that can be checked for volume
but cant remember where it is.

Any help appreciated.

speaker on taskbar left click and check the slider is at leasrt half
way up and also double click the speaker to get mixer settings and check
nothing is muted.

What are "some settings"?

Have you gone into the Device Manager and looked to see if your sound
card is working properly or that the proper drivers are installed?
