HELP! The scroll and typing are slow on Explorer 6.0

M

Mark

Here's the problem:

A few weeks ago, all of a sudden, when I'm on the web and
I pull down on the scroll bar it doesn't scroll smoothly -
it's delayed as I'm pulling it down, as though it's
thinking about it. This isn't for all webpages but most -
I don't know what they all have in common.

In addition, on MOST pages, when I type things in, it
REALLY is delayed. The cursor moves as I type but it take
several seconds for the letters to appear. Some pages
take even longer.

I have a DELL P4 with 256RAM Window XP Explorer 6.0. This
also happens on Netscape. I just upgrade to 6.0.

The scroll and typing issues is ONLY when I'm on the web.
However, as I'm typing now, there is no problem.

This problem cropped up shortly after I, idiotically,
downloaded AOL 9.0. I dumped it and went back to 8.0 but
the problem persisted.

Could some PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE solve this problem for
me. I'm losing my mind.

By the way, I think at the same time that this started
happening, my homepage was "hijacked" and no matter how
many times I reset my homepage it always reverts to
Global-Finder.com

coincidence?

IT'S FIXED!!!!!

I cannot thank everyone enough. This problem has been
making my life a living hell - or something closing
approximating that.

I have the same problem as the original poster. I tried
the spybot thing and while it did find things that adaware
did not, it did not fix the problem.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Juan

That did it. Removed a couple of things and one of them
(not sure which) did the trick. Thank you.
