help switch vista business to vista home premium

newbee needs help!

thinking the vista media would configure based on the product key, i used
the business vista disk to perform an install.

but it might not be compatable with the hardware......

how can i upgrade a vista business install to a legal home premium???????

Since her product key is valid, does microsoft sell replacement disks?

Hi,

A retail disk contains all versions of Vista, and installs based on the Key.
An OEM Recovery Disk set is what I'm thinking you used, and those can be
version specific. If she has an OEM key, she needs appropriate OEM media
(either generic or manufacturer set of disks). If it's retail, then any copy
of a retail disk should be sufficient, and then there is this:
