If you have a gameport on your computer, keep the Sidewinder.
If you don't have a gameport, you'll need to buy an adapter, or
a soundcard with a gameport. The money would be better spent
investing in a USB joystick. Here's some more installation info..
To install a GamePort controller, Plug it in, click Start / Control Panel /
Switch to Classic view if you haven't already / click Game Controllers
Click Add... / Select Microsoft Sidewinder Auto Detect / OK / OK.
Yes, it will work under Windows XP. Plug the controller in, then go into
Control Panel/Game Controllers and select to Add the new controller. Then
choose Microsoft SideWinder (Auto Detect) and the XP system will install the
drivers for you.
Since the older .vxd format drivers aren't supported in Windows XP, you'll
lose the "profiles" you previously could save, but can still do that within
the individual game if it supports such action.
