Help - Registry key deleted!

L

LK

Whilst searching for tips to clean up my system I came across "Mike's
hardware - Tips". One of the things he suggested was to do the following:-

QUOTE
Open regedit
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft Windos/Current
Version/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace
Under that branch select the key {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA060F5B5}
Delete it

This key instructs Windows to search for Scheduled Tasks on Remote
computers. Unless you use this feature which most people don't it is safe
to delete this key.
UNQUOTE

Since deleting this key I cannot access any pages on the internet. HELP!
How do I restore the previous settings to rectify this?

Kind regards
Lesley

You didn't backup the registry hives or at least the applicable registry key
before deleting? That's why there are warnings about editing the registry
and they should be heeded - otherwise you end up in your situation. You may
try a repair install of WinXP, or you may end up having to completely
reinstall it.
