HELP!!

I have been fighting with IE6 for 3 days now. It started with an Java applet
that runs fine on all my other PC and browsers (Netscape)...except on the PC
i need it to work on!

The applet is supposed to connect to my DVD server via my home network. It
does connect fine...but the applet doesn't run.

I have read all the threads and have tried all the suggestions. Last
night..I re-installed Win XP!! It still doesn't work!

During the last 3 days, I tried to load SP2. It wasn't working well with my
PC...so I uninstalled it. Now I get "about:Blank" when ever I load IE6!!

I have run Ad-Ware SE. I have run Nuke Error.....unloaded and reloaded
Java...etc

This is the errors I get:

click TOOLS > Sun Java Console> = "Sun Java is not currently selected as the
default Java for the browser.....

Under Internet options...Java is selected.

Can ANYONE help me?!

TIA

Hey all....

The Adwareaway DID fix the "about:Blank" (thanks oops!)..but I am still
unable to load my Java applet. Any thoughts? I've gone so far as to reload XP!

oops!!

Great news on that hijacker!

Regarding Java, I would suggest you uninstall ALL versions of Java you may have installed (see Add/Remove Programs). Reboot.

After that download and install latest Sun Java platform (JRE 5.0 Update 3) from here:

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp

See if that solves the problem.

hy Oops!

Thanks for the quick response.

I pretty much have done that. Here's the error I always get in IE6:

click TOOLS then... Sun Java Console...and I get "Sun Java is not currently
selected as the default Java for the browser....."

Under Internet options...Java is selected.

Any thoughts?

oops!!

The settings in my Internet Properties are:

Under Java (Sun)
"Use JRE 1.5.0_03 for <applet> (requires restart)" is selected

Under Microsoft VM
"Java console enabled (requires restart)" is NOT selected
"Java logging enabled" is NOT selected
"JIT compiler for virtual machine..." is selected

Worth double checking.
