Whenever I try to run any applications (word, excel,
Outlook, ACT, Snagit, etc.) I get the following
errors. . .

1st error message:
Fatal Error: [NOCREATE] RWFactory: no create function for
class with ID 1201 (0x4b1)

2nd error message:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library: Runtime Error!
Program: C:/Program Files\TechSmith\Snagit32.exe
R6025 - pure virtual function call

I get this similar error message when I try to print or
go to printer properties. The only program that seems to
work right now is Outlook Express and Internet Explorer.
I'm not sure what to do. Can anyone help me, please?

Are you running Novell Netware or Groupwise on your system? If yes, the
problem is with the Novell software, it may have something to do with the
"notify" function. You would need to resolve this with Novell or in a
Novell group.

No, I'm not. I was having a problem with my computer and
the Microsoft support tech said to do a System Restore
back to the previous day. After doing that the error
started to appear.

Thanks.

What was the problem you were having with your system?

You can undo the System Restore by opening System Restore and selecting
"Undo last restore," which might resolve this issue and if you post the
problem you were having, we might be able to help resolve that as well.

Thanks Michael the undo restore worked for my office
programs. but now I'm back to my original problem of not
being able to print. I'm connected to a HP Color
Laserjet4600 and when I send a print job the following
error prints:
PCL XL error
Subsystem: KERNEL
Error: IllegalOperatorSequence
Operator: EndFontHeader
Position: 1
I've spoken to HP and they don't have an answer for me.
I've tried reinstalling the printer from the CD that came
with it. I've tried downloading updated drivers from HP's
website. I'm connected to the printer through my pc's
LPT1 port but it is going through a hub to split the
printer connection for the other two in my office. When I
tried installing the printer from the CD that came with
it, it gets stuck on configuring the LPT hardware. It
says that it cannot communicate with the printer through
the LPT1 port. I thought maybe it was because of the hub
so I tried going directly to the printer and I still ran
into the same problem. I was able to load the printer but
it doesn't print right. When I try printing using the
PCL5 driver I only get the black and white text, nothing
color prints. If I try to print using the PCL6 driver I
get the error above. The other thing that is strange is
that it's not listing my printer in the general HP list
when I try to "Add a Printer"...I have to point to the
drivers I downloaded to get them to appear. Is that
normal? I'm stumped... have you heard of this happening
before? Is something corrupting the driver on my pc? Any
help you can provide is GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks!

The HP website claims the printer is XP compatible, are you sure you used
the XP compatible drivers from their site? I also noted the possibility of
firmware updates for the printer, have you checked to see if there are any
available for your printer.

I would have suspected the hub as well but since you have the problem when
connected directly, that rules that out.

Have you made sure your antivirus software is up to date and scanned for
viruses? Have you checked your system for malware? Download, install and
run Ad Aware:
www.lavasoftusa.com. It is not an antivirus app but it will scan your
system for malware.

Could something else on your system be corrupting the drivers? The above
about antivirus and malware may help if that is the case.

If you are clear of such things, the next step would be to check other
hardware on the system, make sure all drivers are up to date, graphics card,
soundcard, etc. If yes, you may have to remove items one by one, then test
the printer to see if it begins to properly function and the items include
software as well that might be interfering. It's a step by step process but
no other way to source this type of issue except by trial and error.

You do it the same way as you do it for your printer, you go to the device
manufacturer's website and check for current drivers, also be sure they are
supporting the device in XP because if they are not and you are using old
drivers, perhaps Windows 9x drivers for the device, that could be the source
of the issue.

As I mentioned, they also have firmware updates at the HP site, you might
want to check if they are for your printer and if the information about
those firmware updates mentions issues such as those you seem to be
experiencing.

Something else you might do is check the Event Log for errors that
correspond to when you have the problem with your printer. Open Control
Panel, open Administrative Tools, open Event Viewer and go to the various
sections looking for corresponding errors, double click the error, the
information on the inside might give a clue as to what might be the source
of the issue.

information on the inside might give a clue as to what might be the source
of the issue.

I tried the ad ware and running a virus check through
McAfee but I'm still experiencing the problem with
printing. I've never updated drivers on my hardware
before...how do I go about doing that?
Thanks again for all your help and time!

The HP website claims the printer is XP compatible, are
you sure you used
the XP compatible drivers from their site? I also noted
the possibility of
firmware updates for the printer, have you checked to
see if there are any
available for your printer.

I would have suspected the hub as well but since you
have the problem when
connected directly, that rules that out.

Have you made sure your antivirus software is up to date
and scanned for
viruses? Have you checked your system for malware?
Download, install and
run Ad Aware:
www.lavasoftusa.com. It is not an antivirus app but it
will scan your
system for malware.

Could something else on your system be corrupting the
drivers? The above
about antivirus and malware may help if that is the case.

If you are clear of such things, the next step would be
to check other
hardware on the system, make sure all drivers are up to
date, graphics card,
soundcard, etc. If yes, you may have to remove items
one by one, then test
the printer to see if it begins to properly function and
the items include
software as well that might be interfering. It's a step
by step process but
no other way to source this type of issue except by
trial and error.

Thanks Michael the undo restore worked for my office
programs. but now I'm back to my original problem of
not
being able to print. I'm connected to a HP Color
Laserjet4600 and when I send a print job the following
error prints:
PCL XL error
Subsystem: KERNEL
Error: IllegalOperatorSequence
Operator: EndFontHeader
Position: 1
I've spoken to HP and they don't have an answer for me.
I've tried reinstalling the printer from the CD that
came
with it. I've tried downloading updated drivers from
HP's
website. I'm connected to the printer through my pc's
LPT1 port but it is going through a hub to split the
printer connection for the other two in my office.
When I
tried installing the printer from the CD that came with
it, it gets stuck on configuring the LPT hardware. It
says that it cannot communicate with the printer
through
the LPT1 port. I thought maybe it was because of the
hub
so I tried going directly to the printer and I still
ran
into the same problem. I was able to load the printer
but
it doesn't print right. When I try printing using the
PCL5 driver I only get the black and white text,
nothing
color prints.
Thanks!
Nicole

What was the problem you were having with your system?

You can undo the System Restore by opening System
Restore and selecting
"Undo last restore," which might resolve this issue and
if you post the
problem you were having, we might be able to help
resolve that as well.

No, I'm not. I was having a problem with my computer
and
the Microsoft support tech said to do a System
Restore
back to the previous day. After doing that the error
started to appear.

Thanks.

Are you running Novell Netware or Groupwise on your
system? If yes, the
problem is with the Novell software, it may have
something to do with the
"notify" function. You would need to resolve this
with
Novell or in a
Novell group.

Whenever I try to run any applications (word,
excel,
Outlook, ACT, Snagit, etc.) I get the following
errors. . .

1st error message:
Fatal Error: [NOCREATE] RWFactory: no create
function
for
class with ID 1201 (0x4b1)

2nd error message:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library: Runtime
Error!
Program: C:/Program Files\TechSmith\Snagit32.exe
R6025 - pure virtual function call

I get this similar error message when I try to
print
or
go to printer properties. The only program that
seems
to
work right now is Outlook Express and Internet
Explorer.
I'm not sure what to do. Can anyone help me,
please?
