Help please, Broadband under ME

Howard

I have just had installed Broadband from BT using a
Westell Modem. Have installed the modem SW on my PC and
that was fine, a quick check of the system info reveals
the modem is there OK. However when I try to make a new
connection using that modem - so I can use Broadband for
access to Net - ME does not see it, it is not an option in
the drop-down box, nor will AOL pick it up when I ask it
to auto-detect modem.
Any one any clues or suggestions I would be very grateful.

Thanks

Post in an ME group. Get something other than AOL.

Check your 'network adapter' in Device Manager. Right-click 'My Computer'
Properties > 'Hardware' > 'Device Manager'. under 'Network Adapters' should
be your driver, right-click 'Properties', is it 'working properly'?
right-click 'Properties' & update driver anyway. Or right-click 'Properties'
and uninstall driver, then reboot. The new driver will install on reboot. By
the way this is a WinXP newsgroup not Win ME. It's been a while since I've
used ME. Try a Win ME newsgroup.
