Michael

I just set up my wireless home network and am having
major problems that linksys tech support couldn't help me
with. I have a desktop and laptop on a home network
through a wireless router/adapter. The home computer can
see itself and the laptop on the network. However the
laptop cannot see the home computer nor itself in the
network group. The laptop can connect to the internet
with no problems. When I connect the laptop to the
router with a broadband cable, the home computer and
laptop magically appear. For some reason, the network
does not want to use the wireless adapter to work on the
internet. Someone please help. I'm at wits end. I need
to access my home computer from my laptop. Thank you

Disable the Internet Connection Firewall on the laptop's wireless
network connection:

1. Open the Network Connections folder.
2. Right click the wireless network connection and click Properties.
3. Click Advanced.
4. Un-check the Internet Connection Firewall box.

Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP on the laptop's wireless network
connection:

1. Open the Network Connections folder.
2. Right click the wireless network connection and click Properties.
3. Double click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
4. Click Advanced.
5. Click WINS.
6. Click the Enable NetBIOS Over TCP/IP button.
