Help-notepad gone !

I have the notepad shortcut on my desktop but it won't
open when clicked on. Went to programs>accessories>no
notepad listed. Link on "help" opens notepad. Documents
uses notepad to open so I can't open my text files.
Wordpad works OK.
Please help

Try going to start>run and type SFC /SCANNOW

You will need your XP cd, unless you have pre-installed/OEM version.

Do a search for notepad.exe and create a new shortcut.
