OK, CAN ANY BODY HELP.......
I am trying to find a way to get xp pro to set up my hard drives in DMA mode
I have read and read and read some, more but cant find anything to even try
The main problem is this.....I dont have an advanced settings TAB showing when
I open the properties of my primary or secondary IDE chanels.....i mean as far as i can
see......my hard drives are not even in pio mode
now, my mother board shows them in DMA mode 5, i have recently updated the bios
I have also installed drivers for my intel chipset ( was hoping this may help )
I have even tried a regedit tweak....STILL NOW ADVANCED TAB
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY...HOW.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions

Ok, im no guru, but from what i can tell, it sounds like your looking at your HDD in device manager, not IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. try there, and enable DMA if available under advanced.

thanks cholera.....is your sugestion not in the device manager...and if so then were can i find it?
I have looked in the properties of the prim and sec ide channels...which im sure is under ide/ata atapi controllers

would lke your thoughts

thanks
emerson
