DMA not Enabled

I have XP home edition SP 2.
I have tried the device manager method with no results. I seen a posting
by MAP
concerning the unstalling of the controller. The post says to go to the
secondary IDE channel and uninstall.
How can I tell which IDE channel my hard drive is on ?
I get a "warning: DMA not Enabled" 'please ck conrol panel for the
following devices: WDC WD800JD-22LSA0". I have ckd. and it says: device
working properly.
Then I can go to Nero Info tool and under the "configuration tab" expand the
1st. Primary IDE channel is Slave: Lite-on ***** DMA on, auto run. Under
the 1st. secondary IDE channel is Master: WDC WD 800JD-LSA0 DMA off , but
in my 1st Primary IDE channel in Device 1 Current Transfer Mode: Ultra DMA
Mode 4.
In my 1st Secondary IDE Channel, Devices 0 & 1 have the same settings,
Device Type: Auto Detection, Transfer Mode: DMA if Available, Current
Transfer Mode: NA. The 2nd. Primary IDE Channel properties, Device 0
Current Transfer Mode: PIO. I wish there was a way to send attachments as I
have screenshots of the IDE Channels Properties boxes. So I am lost.

Open youre owners manual to find the #1 & #2 IDE controllers, open the case
to check...As for DMA,you can set in the BIOS,or depending on age of board,
intel IDE drivers come with application accelerator v2.3 works with intel
chip-
sets 845 or below, you can adjust with that, however youre BIOS is still the
best
place....

I asked another question last week about this same problem, I don't think I
reposted coprrectly. Andrew E. said to open my Owners Manual, the Manual I
have is about 3 pages long concerning hookup.
Somebody said to uninstall the secondary controller and reinstall. I
have 2 Primary and 2 secondary controllers in my Device Manager. I don't
know which controller to change in Device Manager or BIOS since there are 4
Primaries and 4 secondaries in BIOS some of those say: (not Detected). I
could look inside of the case but I don't know what I'm looking at.
