Help....need to upgrade to XP PRO

I purchased a Compaq computer with Windows XP
preinstalled. After contacting HP I realize I do not have
the installation CD for Windows XP because they only
contract with Microsoft to preinstall the operating
system. If I had the CD's I could upgrade to XP Pro from
the CD's for free. I currently need the XP PRO for my
home business. Does anyone have any suggestions
 
No, you cannot upgrade from XP Home to XP Pro "for free".
You'll need to purchase the "retail, upgrade version" of XP
Pro and select the default "upgrade" option during setup.
