Help.. my explorer address bar won't open ...

Hello, Any help on this matter will be appreciated. This about Explorer, not Internet Explorer....
Problem
Using Windows XP home, fully updated
In Windows Explorer, I wish to see the full folder address of the folders I'm exploring (something I depended on while using Windows 98).
At the top of the screen, I have already switched on the address using View> Toolbars > Address Bar (tick).
I can see the word "Address" in a grey box at the top right of my screen, but I can't show the address itself
I've tried to grab the vertical white bar just to the left, but I can't grab it
Question
How do I get to see the full folder address in Windows Explorer

Many thanks

Open Explorer, go to Tools, select Folder Options, go to the View tab, place
a check next to "Display the full path in the Address Bar," click apply and
ok. If it is already selected, deselect it, click apply and ok, select it,
click supply and ok and then click "Apply to All Folders" in order that you
receive this view in any folder.
