HELP! Messed around with Security Settings or IE Options

Help you All...its the weekend thank god, but during the week I have been
trying to make this computer more secure, which i am grateful for! Thanks!
but I remember taking the advice of one of the MVP's and change some
settings in either Security or IE Options and can no longer sign into any
web site that takes me to a secure log-on page???? not even when i go into
MSN.Com and use my .net password log on can i can get into my msn. And the
worse one is I can no longer sign into either my on-line bank account or my
stock market account. Can view the web pages, but just when i go to any
server that requires secure log in.

No! i did not forget all my passwords, but that would be just like me!~ and
the sites all can be accessed from the federal computer at work because I
just left work and can get in to all of the above. I really would like to
get into both bank account and after hour trading at wall street so if
someone can pick up on this and tell me what I have done wrong...You're
invited over to the eastern shore of Maryland for steamed crabs and beer!
the next time your down this way!!

Respectfully
Gene Murphy..
damn i am one dumb computer users "_:)

Nice "dig" James...But I am an "unpaid volunteer" working for the Veterans
Administration 40 hours a week...so your tax dollars are certainly safe on
my end -:) but as I do get to see how our money is really spent on our aging
Veterans like me who served ...your absolutely right!
Ok I will try your suggestion...the last one...the only card i want to save
however is my video card to see if I can hook it up to that 64mb of ram dell
at work so i can play at least <solitaire>
Thanks

OK , that did not work James? so now what...maybe I need to state it more
clearly. I cannot sign onto any <secure site>. This is nuts...I mean I set
everything to back to defaults and still no go?? . This machine has been a
nightmare since the last two new updates which even though I removed, still
having all kinds of weird things going on here, timed out server responses
when checking emails, now no access to any secure site??? yeah I know next I
won't be able to write here either and "whine" :) oh well I will just be
patient and wait for a MVP to answer my dilemma , Not that you didn't try!
....or maybe just me to not capable of following directions...i was a
marine...we need directions even to the head!
Have a great weekend everyone, even if i don't get into my bank account - -
:(

James... I really don't think so, I think all I did was follow the advice of
one real nice MVP and change the options in IE. I am on cable so there aint
a whole lot to change is there? lol what a idiot i am ...oh well...I went
into help and did a network diagnoses and ping my ip and that was ok , but
outlook express failed, which i am totally confused about, because I can't
see how outlook express failed, as I use outlook2002 even to access this
group, unless it is running through outlook? Let me go back and check the
network connection, but I thought if i could send and receive email and surf
web pages except those secure my internet connection was working just
stopping me from viewing secure sites. I made sure i was had checked use
SSL2.0 and SSL 3.0 in the advanced tab of security...so god only knows what
i have done...again thanks for your quick replies . the damn weekend will be
over before i get into the bank site, oh well if i don't know what i spent,
i guess that is a good thing :)
Regards
Gene Murphy
