Okay here's the deal. About 2 years ago (give or take) I bought a copy of
Windows XP Pro through a software program at my University. I have since
graduated and moved. Somewhere in the move I managed to lose the slip I got
with the software that had my Serial # on it. My hard drive on my old
computer is starting to fail so it needs replacing. I'd like to put my copy
of Win XP Pro back on the new drive. Is there some way I can get the OS to
tell me the Serial # I used to register and activate the software with
Microsoft? I really can't afford to go out and buy another copy of Windows XP
Pro so need to be able to use the copy I have.
Anyone got any advice? If I install it on the new drive I can't do anything
without the Serial #'s and I really need to replace the drive soon.
