HELP: Java JRE 2 slows IE

J

Jimmy Hsu

Some websites that I visited required me to input data in a few blank
fields. I was prompted to download Java JRE, before I could input any
data.

I then downloaded the latest version of Java (JRE 2), and installed it. But
when I went back to those sites, the blank fields now shows the coffee cup
(Java) icon flashing and it took JRE several long minutes to load. Is there
a way to speed up these JRE to work faster with IE. I was told Firefox
browser works faster with JRE engine. But I am reluctant to switch
browsers. pse help

Thanks

When you use the above link it will auto install and then verify
your installation.

JAVA 2 Platform Standard Edition
Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_06-b05)

This is the latest for a regular user, not a developer.

Try un-installing all the Java you find in add/remove. Then download a
new copy of the latest version and install it.

I had 6 and one fine day it told me to update so I did. Works wonderfully.
