(this is the old question ahd respones, Question at the Bottom
*Hey
My friend is having some trouble getting his ip address, well his secondary (if there is such a thing) he has gone to sites that have givin him one ip thats been the same. and when i try to join a program he is hosting, like a voice chat program, it wont work. so is there anyway he can find his secondary? ( Not firewall because i can play games that he's hosting)

Response
*You only have one IP address unless behind NAT router or ICS firewall
http://myipaddress.com/ for real IP address
Start/Run cmd then type IPCONFIG to see what IP the computer thinks it has
Should be same, if not you have NAT or ICS causing problem
I bet WinXP firewall is blocking ports

His ip's did not match up from the web address and his computer. he has gone into his network connections and turned off that firewall. what else can he do????????????

Actually, I just reread your post - you said the IPs from the local computer
and myipaddress.com don't match, so yes, he's using NAT. Most cable/DSL
routers do NAT.

I don't know what you mean by "secondary" IP address....
