HELP!!! IE6 Error: Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library...

Nisar Butt

My problem is: when I surf the net my browser seems OK, but the minute I
try and save a picture (right click of mouse & 'Save Picture As' option),
after downloading it, I get the dreaded pop-up error message that looked:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
abnormal program termination
(OK) button

IE does not save downloaded picture and just shuts and I'm back on desktop.

Installed 5 different Spybot programs and cleaned up my system as I was
advised, but my problem is still there...only slightly different error
message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library
Debug Error!
Program C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
abnormal program termination
Press Retry to debug application
(Abort) (Retry) (Ignore) buttons

Whatever button I take it just shuts up and I'm back on Desktop. On Option
button, it does produce an Error Report for sending to MS, and looking at
this it says on front page:

AppName: iexplore.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2800.110
ModName: skchui.dll
ModVer: 1.0.1038.0
Offset : 00030a63

Then the details lists 109 dll modules before the hex dump....

Is any of this provide a clue???

My system is: Windows XP Prof, IE6, with all latest patches. ZoneAlarm,
Ad-Aware, Spybot, Spy Sweeper, Spywareblaster, BHO-Demon. Latest spec h/w
with I Gb Ram and 300 Gb disks...

OK, I have tried System Restore and I have uninstalled MS-Project but still
no progress on my problem. BTW, Frank Saunders, if you read this, as I
suspected SKCHUI.dll did not get uninstalled (Control Panel, add/remove
programs process), when I uninstalled MS-Proj. and as you may have read
elsewhere, when I re-named the SKCHUI.dll to see what happens, IE6 still
gave me a problem but MS-Publisher sent up pop-up window every step I took
saying insert CD to heal itself...and given that SKCHUI.dll is Draw Pen Tip,
Publisher sounds a more likely candidate its connected with...

So what next? Uninstall MS-Office as I think SKCHUI.dll is connected with
ME-Publisher....?

HELP please..............
