error mesage: micrsoft visual c++ debug library

when I am using microsoft internet explorer 6 and request to download a file
in a pdf format, the pdf will open but I can not modify and the following
message comes up on the screen:

microsoft visual c++ debug library

debug error

program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

abnormal program termination

(press Retry to debug the application)

Abort Retry Ignore

I have follwed all of the instructions that the error message gives, when I
press the retry button, the window that is open completely closes.

I wonder whether anybody has any suggestions that would be able to help me
out on this.

i ave the exact same problem - only when i initially open my home page - can
anyone help ?
