Can anyone help ?!

I am running Windows XP Home Edition and IE version 6 with SP1. When I am
running IE, if I open a second window it closes the first one down.

I have been into Internet Options and unselected "REUSE WINDOWS FOR
LAUCHING SHORTCUTS" and also disabled my firewall and privacy software, but
the problem still exists. I am running McAfee virus and firewall software.

Can anyone help please ?!

I don't have any idea what this can be, only know that if you look at
this newsgroup, yuo see thousands of people all having different
problems with their IE. But you know, for fun I also sometimes help
people at the dutch firefox newsgroup... And there is only something
about 1 question a day, and most questions are like:
I can't find my favorites
or
How can I do this or that... All things that are easily solved... But
only once a month, in the whole Flanders and The Netherlands (about 20
million people), someone has a real problem with firefox. So really, get
firefox at www.getfirefox.com, and you'll really never miss IE... It
automatically imports all you settings and favorites, and IF you ever
should miss IE for whatever reason, just switch back... So there is
really no risk... I hope you consider this,

Thanks,

Hi,
You probably have a program running which is blocking pop-up windows-
something like Yahoo Companion, Google toolbar, MSN toolbar, a firewall,
Earthlink (or another pop-up blocker) My IE2 (a shell for IE) etc.
Yahoo Companion is a very common cause.

You'll have to turn off the feature that's blocking new windows or, perhaps,
uninstall the program.

With some programs of this type, using Ctrl+click or Shift+click will allow
a new window.

If you're *sure* that another program isn't causing this, these links may
help.

You may have a bug (spyware) normally I'd just run a sys scan with an adware
program that gets rid of those things.

In Internet options disable one of the JAVA engines : Sun or MS.
The two cannot run together. But, of course, that only concerns Web pages
that use Java.
