I have the following DEP error message: to help protect your computer,
Windows has closed this program. Name: Generic host process for WIn 32
services. Publisher: Micrsoft Corp.

The following message then appears: svchost.exe - application error. The
instruction at "0x009996bc" referenced memory at "0x0000000". The memory
could not be "written". Click on ok to terminate the program. Click on
CANCEL to debug the program.

I've searched article ID: 875351. But it really does not help. I'm a novice.

Hi,

You have a conflict with a third party application.

boot Windows in safe mode with F8
click start --run
type msconfig
click on services
hide all microsoft services
disable all the third party services
click on OK
boot Pc normal mode
You will see that ther error message does not show anymore
enable third party services one by one until you come across with the error
