HELP- I.E. freezes when link clicked in Outlook Express

When I click a link in an OE email, IE starts to boot then freezes.
Also, certain links on web pages do the same. I.E. boots fine from
it's own icon.
Scanned for virus and adware.
Anyone know what's going on?
