help! i cant open my files under windows xp

any help??? i cant open some files/documents that were
done under the windows 98 os when i tried to open it
using windows xp os. when i place my diskette in my
windows xp, the computer would tell me the disk is not
formatted, but i runs well under the windows 98 os...

Different machines? The floppy drives may be aligned differently enough
that they are giving you trouble with swapping disks from one drive to
another.

Try formatting a floppy on the XP computer. Bring it to the Win98 machine.
Copy the file to the disk. Bring it over to the XP computer. Copy the file
to the hard drive. As long as you have a program installed that can read
that file type, you should be able to open it.
