a "net use" command that works on other clients fails on just one
machine, with a "no login servers available" error. This machine,
like the others, is logged into the domain. This client can browse the
internet just fine.

This is a single w2k server and all the clients are w2k or xp/pro
and everyone gets IP settings from the same dhcp server.

How do I debug this ? Thanks

Check the ipconfig/all. Does everything point to the server-IP?

Yup, and the w2k server is the DNS server, and it can be pinged from the
desktop.

Can you give an example about this net use command and the exact
errormessage you get?

net use s: \\servername\sharename

The error is "there are currently no login servers available to service
this request."

The identical command works on all the other workstations

The all the environment cariables, output from the "set" command, as I
read it, all points to the user being logged into the domain.

Is this on a W2K or an XP?
