One cannot upgrade a workstation operating system over
a server operating system. One would have to reformat
the drive and install the server operating system "clean".
Okay, so I tried following the "Steps to Clean Install XP" on the link
provided below. But after pressing ENTER to enter setup (step 6), a message
is displayed saying that Setup cannot find any hard drives on my system (I
have 2 as master/slave).
If I try doing the Windows Server 2003 install, the drives were detected and
can proceed with the clean install of Windows Server 2003.
Why is it such a pain to do a clean install of XP over Windows Server 2003?
