Help for vista express upgrade

Guest

I recently bought an HP laptop with Vista express upgrade ability. During the
installation process of Windows XP (home) I chose English as the Windows
language rather than the other option I had, Greek. However, when I visited
the Moduslink site for the upgrade I saw the following; for an English XP
version I get Vista Home Basic (English edition) but if I had a Greek XP
version I would get Vista Home Premium (Greek edition). Can I order the Home
Premium edition? Will I have a problem during the installation because of the
different language? I would appreciate any advice…

The language of Windows XP Home can not be selected or changed.
What you probably selected were the Regional settings.

If Windows XP Home is English, you need Vista in English as well.

Actually, HP gives you the ability to chose your OS language when you fist
install windows. It also mentions that this choise is not reversible.

Then you may have 2 choices:
Get everything in English.
Reinstall and then choose Greek.
But then everything will have to be in Greek.

The selection of language is an HP feature with their computers and has
nothing to do with how Microsoft uses language packs or otherwise changes
the language.

Check with HP for details.
