Help explorer.exe hangs up when shutting down

H

Hank

I am running Windows XP Home Edition SP2. Quite often now when
I try to shutdown the system a window opens up saying it is storing
something from explorer.exe to close it. Then program is shown to be
non-responding and I have to manually close it to get system down.
Any one have any idea why this is happening and what I can do to stop
it?

TIA

Have downloaded the UPHcleanup file and run it before when I
was getting a similar window with another program. It worked. I
believe UPHclean is what is generating this window I get on shutdown
but if it starts working and explorer.exe is non-responsive so it can
not finish the clean up. I just re-executed the UPHclean.exe file.
Screen went black like it was in DOS mode for awhile then came back.
Will see if this helps.
Thanks for the quick response.
