Help! Do embedded movies play WHILE the slide show goes frame toframe?

Really need help:

I want to use some wmv movies in my sales presentation.

If I insert a wmv into one place on a slide, will it play through
subsequent slides?

What I want to do is have a movie play next to sentences that appear
one by one.

The sentences appear one by one and form a stacked list.

They, of course, have to be set on separate slides.

Is it possible with PPT to have the movie keep playing as the
sentences appear, i.e., as the slides present them?

Thanks!

Thanks!

Thanks!!!!

To play movies across multiple slides in PowerPoint, just insert the video
files in the master slide.

How to use Slide Master =>
In PowerPoint 2003: View -> Master -> Slide Master
In PowerPoint 2007: View -> Presentation Views Group -> Slide Master

You can try this way, and I hope it helps.

Yes, and if you insert them into the master, they will start playing again
with every new slide ...
Insert video on the slide and change the animation settings, so that it
plays across multiple slides.

Best regards,
Ute

Oh, I'm sorry! I just know I'm wrong to do so in Master.

You can just do custom animations in PowerPoint. After you insert video from
file, just click it, then:

In PowerPoint 2003: Slide Show -> Custom Animation -> Click the media on the
right pane -> select Effect Option in drop-down list -> in Stop playing
section of Effect tab, choose After: xx slides and fill the number with the
slide number you like.

In PowerPoint 2007: Animation -> in Animations section, Animate: select "Play
across slides" in drop-down list

Thank MVPs to correct my answer. I hope this time it works.

As Ute says William's method won't work as the vid will keep restarting as
you change slides. There's a little tutorial for the method Ute suggests here:http://www.pptalchemy.co.uk/videothroughout.html

The sentences don't have to be on different slides by the way.

Many thanks, all.

And by the way, can you also point me to the tool to use so you don't
have to use a new slide for each sentence too?
