Hello there and if you can help me, great!
I recently upgraded my PC from an Athlon XP to a Pentium
4 with Hyper Threading. This required me to reinstall XP
over the top of my old installation. Everything is
working now, but I have a couple of weird problems; Even
though the Bios shows that I have 2 CPU's (which is
correct due to HT rules) and Device manager shows I have
two CPUs, two of the effects I expect to see, don't:
a. My computer in Device manager just says "ACPI
compliant..." etc, not that it's a multiprocessor PC
b. The Task Manager doesn't have twin CPU graphs to show
both of my virtual processors.
So... how do I know if XP is seeing the processors and
working in the correct fashion? Is there any benchmark or
test to prove that XP is hyper threading correctly?
