The TaskBar 'toolbar' that normally displays currently running application
windows has disappeared from my TaskBar and so I am now having to use
Alt/Tab to switch around individual windows.

The START button is working fine, Quick Launch toolbar is still visible and
I can open other toolbars (such as the Language Bar) and the system
tray/clock are still functioning normally.

How do I restore the Task Bar back to normal ... please has anyone got any
ideas?

Try rebooting first- quickest and may work!
