Help deleting user account

I am trying to delete and extra account on my XP-Home machine and coming up
with the following error:
"Could not complete the operation due to error 80070402". Can anybody help?

Start--> Run
type the following text: control userpasswords2
OK
In the User Accounts screen, select the user you want to delete or remove
Click "Remove"
Are you sure? Yes

Try the "net user" command-line.

Syntax:

net user <accountname> /delete
