HELP! CPU usage and right mouse click

Hi
Help please!
I've lost the facility to right click on the desktop (occassinally on
folders too) to bring up the menu's. All i get is the hourglass icon, and
then basically feezes the computer. The mouse can still move but I can't use
anything/ load etc.

I have all updates, ran virus checks etc...I have tried a system restore,
but once 'restored' says It was unable to restore at this point. I have tried
defrag, and once complete, comes up with a list of files that it can not
defrag. I then go to analyse the drive again, and then says i must defrag
this drive! Straight after!

In general, mylaptop has suddenly gone on a mass go slow.

Any tips appreciated.

Hi and thanks for that URL

Tried but still doesnt work. I have to load the task manager and end the
process of verclsid.exe in order for me to gain control again....does this
help?

No worries, i've managed to do it.....did a google on the below process and
