HELP! Can't Import .DBX Message Folders

Help! I lost my main PC from a hard drive failure but had saved my
Outlook Express *.dbx message folder files to an external drive. Now
that I have everything back up, I'm trying to import the *.dbx files
and Outlook Express won't let me do it. Both versions of Express are
6. I do File -> Import -> Messages and select Outlook Express 6. I
then choose Main Identity (the only identity showing) and select OK.
I define the folder I put the *.dbx files into and click OK and Next,
then I get the message "No messages found in this folder or another
applicatioon is running that has the required files open. Please
select another folder or try closing applications that may have files
open."

I'm sure I've re-loaded my messages in the past this way and don't
know why it won't recognize and import them now. Does anyone have any
ideas?

Thanks in advance!

The usual cause of this error is not copying the file called Folders.dbx
when you backup all the other files. Did you copy this file onto your
external drive?

Ah, that might be it. I was trying to import just select folders and
didn't even notice the Folders.dbx file. I'll try it again with that
file in the same directory and see what happens. Question: If I
include the Folders.dbx file in the directory, can I just put the
other few folders I want to import and not the rest? Will it still
have a problem?

Thanks for the help!
