OF THE FIRE WALL ON OUTLOOK EXPRESS AND MICROSOFT WORD.
CAN YOU HELP ME

Neither Word nor Outlook Express have firewall. Your
firewall will either be on your internet connection (XP
Service Pack 2), an external router if you have one or a
third party product such as Zone Alarm.

If you are using XP SP2, go to your network connections,
right click on the connection you are using and go to
properties. Click on advanced and disable the firewall,
this is not really recommended though as you're opening
youself up to attacks.

If you have a router you will probably need to disable
it's firewall protection by adding your computer to the
DMZ, I can't tell you how to do that as it depends on the
router.

If you have Zone Alarm or Norton Internet Security etc,
just disable them temporarilly until you've done what you
need to.

All these actions are purely temporary, you really should
re-enable the firewall ASAP. In future it will be best if
you can speak to a techie who manages the servers and ask
them what ports you should enable on your firewall to
allow you to connect.
