Help and Support Center Won't Open

Galen

Hi,
When I click on Start/Help and Support the cursor hourglass (Wait)
briefly appears and then nothing. I have searched MS's KB. The only articles
I found that I believed would be applicable address setting H & S to run
automatically in Services (it was, and I additionally right-click restarted
it), and setting the H & S Reg Key to a certain Value (which it was). H & S
still will not open. I've had this Computer for over one year but I cannot
remember if I ever used H & S be fore this. Any ideas?

XP SP-1 (am going to hold off on SP2 as long as humanly possible!)
HP Pavilion Laptop
Athlon-M 2200+
480MB RAM
Wireless Connect to Internet through home-networked Router

Thank you,
Galen W. Sievert

Hi Galen,

See if these commands help, from Start, Run dialog:

helpctr -regserver
regsvr32 itss
regsvr32 hhctrl.ocx
regsvr32 jscript

Ramesh,
Thank you for the info. The first command worked. The H & S Center is
now up and running.

Rock,
Thank you for the link. Fortunately, a command prompt provided by
Ramesh did the trick. I have bookmarked the link you provided; that site has
a wealth of info!

You're welcome. Glad you got it fixed and thanks for posting back. Yes
Kelly's site is great.
