O.K., so I thought I had it all figured out, so I marked that my question was
answered. Now I have another:

Is there a way to restore all of the messages (or at least send a copy)
back to my server?

I am thinking that I should just delete this account...I went in and did this:

'Tools|Accounts|Mail|Properties|Advanced' add a checkmark to the "Leave a
copy of mail on server" checkbox.

And I thought it was fine, but the next time I logged in to Windows Mail, it
erased all of my messages from my server again, and sent them to Windows
Mail! ACKKKKKKK!

What do I do?

Thanks!

Thanks again!

A few email providers ignore requests to leave a copy of messages on
the server. I think gmail.com is one of them.

Remove the GMail account from Windows mail and re-create it using IMAP
instead of POP. (GMail has a help page on how to do that) You should then be
able to copy all the downloaded messages back to folders on the server...
