Internet keeps often disconnecting after the initial email check in a Synchronize All

For me, a Synchronize All often disconnects from the internet after checking
my only email server, but before checking any of my newsgroups servers.

I found the Accounts screen for my email account; nothing is entered
there. All the email and newsgroups accounts have a checkmark before
Include this account when checking for new messages.

However, when doing a Synchronize All, I sometimes but not always
get an error message after the check of the email server, but before
the check of any of the newsgroups servers, saying there is no longer
any connection to the internet and asking if I want to try the
connection again. When I tell it I do, the connection is usually
restored within a few seconds.

Any idea what else to look for? I thought I'd already told Windows
Mail not to disconnect from the entire internet just because it's
closing its connection to one server.

Go to Tools, Accounts, select your mail account, Properties, Connection.
What does it show for connection?
You must either leave that unselected (in which case WM will use whatever
connection IE uses), or else select the Local Area Network.

Also, under Tools, Options, Connection, the first box should be checked,
and the second box unchecked.

No connection selected; Local Area Connection is shown, but grayed out.

For the second check, that's what I already have.

I also looked at the IE settings, and saw nothing I'd expect to cause this.

You can see Windows Mail still has problems inserting the indentation
characters when replying to a message with the quoted-printable
coding.

Ensure that your news account is also set to use any available or LAN
connection.

..
All four of them are set that way, and usually do it.

Make sure you check that first setting in ALL accounts.

Windows Mail is unable to indent quoted text with the '>' character
if the message being quoted used Quoted-Printable format.
That's one of many bugs that have been fixed in Windows Live Mail.
