Hi,
I have a question puzzled me for a so long time:
Everytime I turn on my laptop, after inputting my username and password,
There is a so long period that I cannot use my computer(i.e., the task bar
doesn't response and I cannot run any applications).
I used some process monitor application to see what happened during this
period, I found that it was mostly caused by "wuauclt.exe" which is the
process of Microsoft Update. Only if the process finished, the system is
avaible. It takes about 4 minutes.

I have tried some additional work to prove this:
I run Microsoft Update from IE. Then, the same phenomenon with the one I
turned on the laptop occured.

I have the same problem on my both two IBM ThinkPad.
The windows is OEM version and I have installed the SP2 and all newest fixes.

Anyone please help me solve this problem ??

Thank you very very much!
