[HELP] 9700 PRO AIW SAPPHIRE AUDIO LINE-IN PROBLEM

A

alecxx

i just bought this fantistic card, everything works fine but the audio
in live tv.
I've an Hercules fortissimo 2 DE,and i cannot get audio from line-in.
I tried the line-in input with an external mp3 player and it just
works fine...
I tought there was some incompatibility between my audio card and the
9700, so i turned on my onboard audio(realtek ac 97 advanced
codec),but...same problem...no sound when watching live tv.
So i blamed the bundled cable, but if i connect it to the MIc in, I
can get the sound(very very crappy!).....so where's the
problem????????????????

please help me, i don't if that's enough to send back my new reatil
sapphire card...

any help will be appreciated.

Ps I'm sorry for my english!!

Have you connected the cable between your sound card and AIW, alec? And
what happened when you ran the configuration wizard after installing the TV
app? I presume you're using MMC; you don't say. Your english is not a
problem; what you need to do is try and describe clearly and fully what the
problem is, what led up to it and your system specs.

1st of all,thank you,for your answer,

yes i already connected the line-out connector to my audio card's
line-in,but nothing seems to happen....i ran the setup in MMC tv
module more than 10times..I can only get audio when connected to
mic-in...but-as i said- is very dirty...
the problem isn't related to my audio card line-in port,'cause i tried
with several ext. devices and it sounds correctly.
i'm running WIN XP sp1
on an xp 2800+
1gb ddr 333 cas
mb ga-7vaxp ultra rev 1.2
sound card hercules fortissimo 2 DE

drivers are omega 2.4.96
wdm provided on omega website

I'm thinking about the possbility of an internal connection between
the ati cd-out connector adn my audio card cd-in connector, does it may
be a solution?

Which version of MMC are you using, alec, and what happened when you ran the
initialisation setup? IIRC (it's a while since I last used an AIW) you
should have been able to select the sound connector during that process,
and, when you selected the right one, you should have been able to hear the
sound. And, it is the _internal_ cable you're using?

i'm using mmc 8.7, and i'm connecting my radeon via LINE-IN, and
choosing it correctly in the wizard config.
I can't get audio from line, while connecting trhough the mic i can
hear something...but with a lot of noise....

so.....what could i try?

are you using any digital audio out? if so, you won't get any live audio
unless you are in TVoD mode... it's an MMC bug I think since my
MediaCenter 9 live TV works just fine.
