HELP, 3rd posting...someone must have an answer!!! Please review the details
below and share your valuable knowledge and experiences! Please reply to this
list, and to (e-mail address removed), and (e-mail address removed). THANKS!
Dell Precision 370, P4 3.2GHz, 1GB RAM, WinXP SP2
I do a lot of work with graphics files, mostly jpg's, some other formats as
well. A lot of people send us pictures of the projects for posting on our
website (hosted elsewhere, but the web site is created on this machine and
files are uploaded from here). In the last several weeks, I have a lot of
WinExplorer crashes when I open a folder on the desktop, or somewhere else on
the C: drive, including several levels deep. Some folders open fine, others
don't, some open sometimes but crash it other times. It also can crash when I
am in a program, such as Adobe Photoshop 7 or NetObjects Fusion 7 or 8, and I
am browsing for a file to open or even to save a file. THIS IS BECOMING
INTOLERABLE!
I have searched this newsgroup, tried running SFC /scannow...no help. I
unregistered and re-registered my image driver (can't remember details but it
was a "fix" I found), have Googled it and looked at other posting
sites....all to no avail. I have read of "similar problem accounts" and
solutions of even reformatting and reinstalling everything, with some results
reported as poor, where the problem still occurs after all that. I have read
about bad patches and hotfixes, etc., that could cause the problem again.
The error is:
explorer.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x7c93426d" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The
memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program
(The numbers above aren't always the same....both sets).
Error Report Contents include:

Someone somewhere, please help me! Thanks again....Chuck
