HEEEELP!!!xp takes 10 mins to turn off????why????

hello
just recently my windows xp(media center if it matters)takes beetwen 6 to 10 mins to turn off.i checked and i am up to date with all my xp updates.pls tell me if there is onything i can do to fix this.its very frasturating to wait for it to shut down every time...thx for replies..

Try R.click on my computer,properties,advanced,chk the enviroment
variables,and user profiles for other add-ins that arent needed.You might
also create another account in xp,see if the speed changes,if so delete
old account create a new one.

1) This group is for vanilla XP, /not/ Media Centre

2) As Media Centre is only available with a new system, your first, and
last, port of call for all support is your computer manufacturer/vendor.
Microsoft does not, will not and cannot assist with OEM supplied licences.
