Not so quick

I keep getting an error in resolving the other
computers address. They disabled their firewall.
I bought a router in case my own addresses
were getting screwed up.

Can I ping his address? Will that let me know more
about what the problem is? Does Microsoft support
this under my XP 2 problems tech support?

Does remote assistance work for anybody. I've tried
with two different computers, with all of us running XP.

Thanks : -)

Hi -

Is the other computer behind a cable/dsl router? If so
the router needs to be configured to forward traffic on
port 3389 to the PC behind it.

The other computer is connected through
DSL with no router. Thanks for responding.
