I tried using earphones to listen to music on the
computer. However when i plug in the earphones to the
computer base it does not play through the earphones, it
continues to play through my computer speakers. How can i
adjust it?

wierd.

here's a couple things that come to mind...

Are your computer speakers internal (built-in) to your
tower or desktop case? Or are they external? If they are
external, you'll need to plug your earphones into the same
plug your external speakers are now using.

Most modern computer cases have three audio-related ports
on the back of the case that all look alike and take
an "earphone-like" jack... one is for the microphone, one
is for a "line-in" channel and another is for the
speakers/earphone (usually color-coded light green). Could
you have plugged into either the microphone or the line-in
plug?

.

Have you plugged them into the correct outlet? It is on
the Sound card next to where you plug in the speakers.
You can also try them directly into the jack on the front
of the CD-ROM drive which has a volume control button.
