Headers and Footes Disappear

I have a document with a section break at the end that causes a blank page to
be displayed as the last page. When I try to delete the section break, the
last page goes away, but my headers and footers disappear! All I need to do
is get rid of this section break with wiping out the headers an footers. Any
suggestions?

Thanks,

The problem is that the document now has (at least) two sections, and the
last section has blank headers and footers. When you delete the section
break, the properties of the last section become those of the entire
document (or at least the section that was next-to-last), including the
headers and footers.

Before you delete the section break, first put the cursor in the last
section (that is, immediately to the left of the last paragraph mark in the
document, visible when you turn on nonprinting characters with the ¶
button). Open the header pane and click the Same as Previous button on the
Header/Footer toolbar to turn it on -- you should see the same header as in
the preceding section. Click the button to switch between header and footer,
and also turn on Same as Previous there.

If the next-to-last section also has "different first page" and/or
"different odd and even" enabled, you need to insert a manual page break
(Ctrl+Enter) between the section break and the last paragraph mark to create
a temporary second page in the last section, and also set the two other
types of headers and footers to Same as Previous.

After all the active headers and footers are set to Same as Previous, you
can now delete the section break and any temporary page breaks.
