HDTV quality for 9500pro

Hello all,
I cannot find much info on the output quality of a 9500pro 128(non modded)
on the literature. I am wanting to try its quality out on my friends nice
new 50in. Panasonic LCD widescreen. His tv can accept the dvi input and is
capable of everything up to 1080i.

Will a 9500pro on a 2gig AMD machine produce anything of quality on a tv set
like that? I went to a link (forgot it sorry) that has some downloadable
HDTV clips for viewing. On my pc, its a little chunky in WMP9. That is a
first on my pc. It worked better with other programs, but still not 100%
smooth. Would that be the evidence im looking for?

Also, what about other things like gaming. I like C&C Generals and RTCW a
lot. Would they look much the same like they do on my 20in tv using the
s-video/composite hookup?

Thanks all,
SL

HDTV from the Dvico Fusion is quite nice on my Radeon 8500--I don't see any
difference between that and the 9800 for HDTV, so presumably the 9500 would
be the same. I did have to move the Dvico board around a few times before
I had it set so that it wasn't sharing an interrupt with anything--until I
did that it was showing periodic freezes.

That's using a front projection monitor designed for computer output though,
what happens with a TV that wasn't designed to be a computer monitor may
vary.

Playing clips other than the ones recorded off the air with the Dvico I have
no idea how well it works--with those clips though it works pretty much the
same way it does with live broadcast.

Regardless, unless you are using a decoder that supports DXVA the video
board, as long as it can output 720p or 1080i, isn't going to make a whole
lot of difference in HDTV performance.
