hdmp file causing my Family Tree Maker Software to stop Working

when I tried to open Family Tree Maker, I got an error message saying FTM
2009 has stopped working. A problem caused this program to stop working
correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
available. When I clicked the details the following notation appeared.
C:\users\AtticTreasures\AppData\Local\Temp\WERCii.tmp.hdmp

I'm not exactly a novice but neither am I experienced enough to understand
this. I have done the following:
Uninstalled the program using Add/Remove Programs
Reinstalled using the original software
Also, uninstalled using the uninstall and also the repair features on the
software.
Nothing has worked.

I did a search on the hdmp and was lead to a mircosoft approved cleaner
called Uniblue, that didn't work either. I normally use PC Tools Registry
cleaner, that didn't work either.

I've emailed FTM but they will not get back with me until mid-week.

Any suggestions?

I suspect that it is a problem with the program itself and you will need to
wait for tech support to help you. One thing you could do is see if there
is something running in the background that is causing a conflict. Use the
technique described in this article:

I did't mention that this is a Vista environment. I'll look for an advanced
clean-boot with vista. Thanks for your help.

You posted to a winxp group, not a Vista one, therefore an ussumption was
made as to your o/s
Have you tried the simple expedient of running Disk Cleanup to delete your
temp files?
The program runs fine on one of my Vista sys's
BTW Any free program eg Uniblue displaying an MS Gold Certified Logo on its
site doesnt mean its approved by MS, they may even be using the logo and any
other MS descriptions illegally.
MS has a 'Partner' site that shows all officially MS registered partners, a
quick search on there failed to find Uniblue
I also find it odd that all the logo's on the uniblue site fail to link to
any of the awards they've apparently received.
IMO all registry cleaners/boosters etc are snake oil and should'ny be used
by the uninitiated

Oh, I didn't realize I was in the wrong place. also, thanks for pointing out
to me I should have been more careful in selecting the disc cleaner uniblue.
I'll remember that in the future. I did use PC Tool to do a Disk Cleanup but
that didn't help. After some thought, I do remember having a small issue
where my computer did a dump automatically but I don't remember what was
happening at that time to cause it. The computer restarted in safe mode but
after that incident I can't remember if I was using FTM or not since that
time.

Thanks for all your input.
