I have the exact same problem, It is so frustrating, sometimes it works, most
times it doesnt, my hardware spec more than suffices, anytime i add a short
video/preview video, the ever familiar screen appears saying

"Windows DVD MAKER has stopped working. a problem causes the program to
stop working corectly,
windows will close the program and notify you IF the solution available"
Anyone know what could be done ?

Hi Peadar--

Try a couple of things.

Try looking for and deleting any filter values in the reg; and try SFC:

Here's how:

Delete filter values in the registry:

____________

***SFC as a Remedy***:

SFC or System File Checker is a bit like the spare tire in your car or a
backup battery I suppose. In Vista of course, they have changed it somewhat
and come up with a new name--Redmond stands for name it something different
twice a year and now it's part of WRP or Windows Resource Protection. It
scans protected resources including thousands of files, libraries, critical
folders, and essential registry keys, and it replaces those that are
corrupted with intact ones. It fixes a lot of problems in Windows XP, OE,
Windows Vista, Win Mail, IE6, and on Vista or if it is installed on XP, IE7.
It protects these things from changes by any source including
administrators, by keeping a spare of most of them.

How to Run SFC:

Type "cmd" into the Search box above the Start Button>and when cmd comes up
at the top of the Start menu>right click cmd and click "run as Admin" and
when the cmd prompt comes up at the cmd prompt type "sfc /scannow" no quotes
and let it run. This may fix things quite a bit. It replaces corrupt files
with intact ones, if you're not familiar with it.

Good luck,

CH

The Brits they is done gonna be leavin' Iraq accordin to Gordon Brown today.
But the Bushie man whose future son in law won't go near Iraq or the Armed
forces say the Americans be kickin' tail in Iraq. Now the American TV
stations alternate between Britney and "Iraq will we go?" although the
airheads don't say who the "we" is would be going since troops will run out
4/08 or sooner.

Finally i find the answer how to resolve this Problem, i was install program
name REPLAY CONVERTER, after i uninstall that program and try to run dvd
maker and finally the dvd maker its have no problem again.

So my suggestion if you have a program that have data about converting video
codec (X program), try to uninstal that program and try run the windows dvd
maker after restart the computer after uninstall the "X program".

Good Luck
